Respect for Others
- Be Quiet & Still: Don’t talk, move, or make noise while someone is taking a shot.
- Wait Your Turn: Don’t hit until the group ahead is out of range.
- Don’t Walk in Someone’s Line: On the green, avoid stepping on another player’s putting line.
Pace of Play
- Be Ready to Play: Have your club selected and be prepared when it’s your turn.
- Keep Up with the Group Ahead: Not just staying ahead of the group behind.
- Limit Practice Swings: One or two practice swings is enough.
Caring for your Golf Course
- Replace Divots: On fairways or on tees, please ask your caddy to replace/fill divots.
- Repair Ball Marks: On the green, fix or ask your caddy to repair the pitch marks.
- Rake Bunkers: Smooth out any footprints or marks after playing from a sand trap.
Honesty and Integrity
- Play by the Rules: Don’t improve your lie or move your ball unfairly.
- Count All Strokes: Even if it’s a bad hole—honesty is central to golf.
- Behaviour on the course and off the course must be friendly.
- Follow Club Dress Codes: Collared shirts, proper shoes, and no denim.
- Stay Calm: Avoid throwing clubs or showing excessive frustration.
- Turn Off Phones or Silence Them: Distractions must be avoided.
- Record your actual scores in the scorecard.
- Check scores recorded by coplayers and before signing ensure that they have recorded their correct scores.
Shake Hands at the End: A traditional sign of sportsmanship.
