Dear Golfers,
It has been observed that in several recent tournaments, the scores submitted by some golfers are significantly lower than what their declared handicaps would reasonably indicate. This consistent pattern suggests that, during practice rounds, accurate scores may not be entered, resulting in handicaps that do not truly reflect current playing ability.
To maintain fairness, integrity, and the competitive spirit of the game, it is important that every player and every four-ball takes full responsibility for the accuracy of the score being recorded.
Going forward:
Each member of the four-ball will be accountable for the correctness of the scores submitted.
If a player submits scores that are not reflective of actual performance or deliberately underplays to maintain a higher handicap, the entire four-ball will be held responsible.
In cases where incorrect or misleading scoring is detected, penalties may be imposed on the entire group.
Golf is a game built on honour and self-discipline. Let us all work together to ensure that our tournaments remain fair, transparent, and enjoyable for every member.

Dr. Shrikant Nair fired an Ace on the 142 Yd. 14th Hole of Golmuri Course with a Seven Iron. This is his 2nd Hole-in-One after a long draught of six long years.

The Tata Open 2025 will be hosted from 23rd-28th Dec 2025. As a curtain raiser to this mega event, PRO-AM will be played on Tuesday 23rd Dec'25. Since Amateur spots are limited, a Qualifying Round will be played concurrently with Jamshedpur Medal and top 50 players (45 Gentlemen & 5 Ladies) will be invited to participate in the Pro-Am.

Last date of entry is Thu, 9th Oct 2025 before 11:30 PM. Please register your entry ONLY thru Jamshedpur Golf website at jamshedpurgolf.in/cp/. Please ignore the Format field mentioned as Stableford in the Registration window.
Players will be responsible for booking their own time slots. For any reasons, if the match can not be concluded on the last day of any round, the match must conclude positively by coming Thursday. This facility is being extended only if both opponents agree to play their match beyond the last day. In case no agreement can be reached then the players must report at 10:00 AM on the last day of the match, to play OR to claim a walk over.
Player, whose name is appearing below in the Draw is responsible to contact her opponent for booking of the time slot.
It will be responsibility of the winner of the match to post her name on the Draw.
In case a match is All Square after 18 holes, players will go for a Best of 3 Holes (1st – 3rd). In case tie is not resolved they shall go for a Sudden Death Play-off from 4th hole onwards, hole by Hole.
Last year’s winner will be seeded 1 in the Draw provided her entry in the tournament has been received. Match pairings will be done by pulling names out of the HAT. Depending on the no. entries received, need may arise to give byes to few players. Byes will be given in the order chits are drawn from the Hat. (Last year’s winner will be the 1st to get the bye).
Golfer of the Year points will be awarded as per the existing point table.
The Committee reserves the right to change any of the conditions laid above.

Parvez Mehta 2025 – Official Draw Published
We are pleased to announce that the official draw for the Parvez Mehta 2025 has been released.
The tournament begins with Round 1 matches scheduled to finish before 27th September 2025 and will progress through to the Finals on 19th October 2025.
Key Details
- Format: Winners from each bracket will advance to the Semi Finals:
- Winner of Bracket 1 vs Bracket 4
- Winner of Bracket 2 vs Bracket 3
Participants are reminded to complete their matches by the scheduled dates for each round to avoid disqualification.

Transition to WHS
Effective October 1st, Jamshedpur Golf will transition to the World Handicapping System (WHS) for computing handicaps.
Key points to note:
- Active golfers who have submitted at least three scorecards (a minimum of 54 holes) over the past year will have a WHS Handicap Index generated.
- Inactive golfers, who have submitted fewer than three cards will have their last handicap carried forward. Their WHS handicap will show as "NH".
- Many golfers may see a change in their handicap, as the computation method changes.
- While WHS calculates a new Handicap Index daily, Jamshedpur Golf will continue to publish handicaps on a monthly basis as usual. This monthly handicap will be used for all our internal tournaments.
- Mid-month revisions post a tournament shall continue as usual.
- Each Golfer is assigned a WHS Club Id and a GHIN Number. You can view this information along with your current WHS handicap under "My Account >> My WHS Info".
- Your daily WHS handicap is only applicable when playing at courses that require it. For this, you can provide them your GHIN Number and Club ID. For all other courses, we will continue to issue handicap certificate mentioning our monthly board handicap index as usual.
- Your handicap computation details will no longer be available under "My Handicaps".

Failure to do so will result in no points being awarded for the unfinished holes. |

47th Jubilee Golf Caddy Tournament
This is for the information of all members that the Caddy Tournament shall be held at Golmuri Golf Course on Monday 13th Feb, starting from 9 AM. While there is no course reservation for this tournament, member golfers are advised to book their tee time keeping in mind the scheduled caddy tournament.

| Format | To be played in partners format using the Stableford scoring system over 18 holes. Handicap of each player shall be capped at 24. Sum of Net stableford points of both partners shall comprise each team's score. Players can choose their partners (of same gender only). Partners cannot play together in the same 4-ball. Please make sure to specify your partner's name in the Addl Info field of the registration form. To qualify for Team entry, both partners must have registered and specified each other's name. |

For smooth conduct of the tournament, in case of an overflow in a particular slot, the committee may consider moving some players to the leaner slot. | Most Fun Partners! | This special prize category is to celebrate Mr. Raina’s love of the game and the amount of fun he would have on the golf course. We want all the golfers to have fun and take photographs of their escapades. We will judge the most fun pair from the photographs they upload here. We hope that this category makes it an even more enjoyable tournament for everyone, and we all take some of these great photo memories back home with us. |
